Cocco Barçante Exhibition

      Created to honor the 450th anniversary of the ‘Marvelous City’, the project “Rio de 450 Janeiros” from artist and designer Cocco Barçante, will be launched this Friday, September 5th at 3pm, in UERJ - University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The event, which is linked to the project “Sentimentos do Rio”, will have it’s first commemorative activity in the exhibition "Um Rio a nos Unir”, and will feature a partnership of craftsmen from various areas of the city who appreciate culture and local identity in their products, and undertake their work promoting sustainable concept and social inclusion. The artists include: Lar de Betânia, from Jacarepagua; group Marias Tide; Inês Rocha from Barra; Alice Correa from Tijuca; Luiz Carlos Silva and Angelita Cavalcanti, from Cidade de Deus; Embroidery Carioca group, from Morro da Conceição; Miriam Freitas, from Santa Teresa; Mariluce Mariá, from Complexo do Alemão, Adriana Marchese, from Petrópolis and Cristina Dias from Botafogo.


      Cocco Barçante along with these artisans, purports to show a collection of feelings that pulsate art of Carioca crafting, promoting the value of the Creative Economy in the city.
