Sam Taylor is an illustrator based in London, England. Drawing from the lumpy, brash aesthetic found in cartoons of the 90s, he presents critical and satirical subjects in a cunningly juvenile style. Precision draftsmanship, an evolving cast of characters, motifs and carefully considered colour schemes dominate Sam’s work. His clients include Converse, VICE, Pitchfork, BBC, Wired, The Guardian, Nike, i-D, GQ, WaterAid, Businessweek and Nickelodeon.
"I wanted to treat this show like a musician putting out a Greatest Hits CD. Like I'm Fleetwood Mac or something, except they have sales and I have 'likes'. It was quite hard picking the work as there are only eight spots (and they're all my babies) so I went through my external hard-drive and chose stuff that I think gives a nice rounded representation of what I do. It was really hard but I think I did OK. There's some gnarly stuff, some silly stuff and the little chicken wing who blew up on Instagram earlier this year, he's like a bonus track.” - Sam Taylor
